Assistant Carpenter
Infinity Building Services, Inc. is a commercial general contractor seeking to expand its current operation with an assistant carpenter for restaurant, retail, hospitality, medical, education, entertainment, and large base building projects in the DC Metro Area (MD/DC/VA).
We are currently seeking an assistant carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years of experience working with carpentry and construction. He or she will be responsible for assisting on-site supervisors with measuring, cutting, and assembling items for various projects. The candidate must be able to take direction well and be able to work independently when needed. The ability to lift heavy objects and use power tools is a must.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist supervisors with a variety of tasks including measuring, cutting, and assembling woodwork.
- Help to load and unload lumber and other materials.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools to complete assigned tasks.
- Follow all safety guidelines and procedures.
- Keep the work area clean and organized.
- Report any damage or repair needs to the supervisor.
- Assist with on-site installations as needed.
- Complete project documentation as required.
- Maintain accurate inventory records.
- Order supplies and materials as needed.
- Perform general maintenance and repairs as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as carpenter assistant.
- Experience with woodworking tools and equipment.
- Basic math skills.
- Good physical stamina and strength.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Associate degree in carpentry, construction management, or related field.
- Two-4 years of experience as a carpenter.
- Leadership experience.
- Project management experience.
- OSHA 30-hour certification.
